DON’T EAT THE PIE

When Sam got married, she knew her life would change…

But geez, becoming the caregiver for her mother-in-law was definitely not on the agenda. Alas, tis life. She will do it anyway and do it very well, she’s used to over-functioning. She’s even managed to befriend the old women on the island. Keeping up an optimistic attitude even when a dead body shows up next-door. And dutifully making a pie for the upcoming competition despite her lack of sleep from relentless nightmares and haunting shadows in the home next-door. None of that will stop her from being the perfect daughter in-law.

Emma, Sam’s teenage daughter, had other plans for the summer…

She hoped to finally meet her birth father. But she’s been driven across the country with her aunt Becca, and cousin Jax, to join Sam and Ben on the island. Though most the residents are elderly, Emma catches the eye of a handsome teenager named Daniel. Their feelings begin to grow rapidly, kind of like the plant life on the island. But she can’t get too distracted by Daniel, something is seriously wrong with the house-next-door. Krysten, Ben’s first wife, died there, another body was just discovered there, and she keeps catching her Mom staring at it all the time. Who can blame her? Emma keeps seeing things she can’t explain over there too. She’s never done a séance before, but it wouldn’t hurt to start now, right?
